The yoga: Mitch’s yoga is designed for people new to yoga and those with experience. There is particular As an ex-rugby player and former gym 'junkie' he is well aware of the need for 'physical' sports and exertion. Having come across yoga several years ago he has been able to see that strength and stamina can be achieved in a calm and mindful way, gaining flexilbility and reducing injury. Many athletes now use yoga to enhance their performance and maintain their health. His classes are tailored to suit people of all ages and levels of fitness and are designed in a thoughtful progression with counter poses, neutralising poses and resting times built in to avoid injury and maintain balance. Mitch also can give advice for men wishing to venture into yoga but who are not certain what it can offer them. In addition to group sessions Mitch also offers individual and one to two tuition. Qualifications and training: Mitch trained with the Cambridge School of Yoga which is accredited by the Yoga Alliance - www.yogaalliance.org and accepted internationally. He has been pratising yoga for 10 years and is an experienced and mature teacher who has studied many styles of yoga. At the Cambridge School of Yoga he trained with Barbara Harding in Hatha yoga with an Iyengar base. He has also studied extensively with Ken Eyerman who teaches a flowing yoga system fused with Feldenkrais principles. Mitch teaches all over the world including Sri Lanka, Egypt, Spain and Brazil. He is a keen sportsman and believes in keeping himself fit and healthy. Yoga has helped support his sporting interests increasing his strength, stamina and flexibility. His classes are based on classical Hatha yoga but also incorporate a mixture of other yoga styles. Mitch uses an intuitive sense of his own body and those of the students in the class, to dictate the pace, postures and type of practice used within any one class.
